Jamboree 2010

                     Dive the Gaspe Peninsula this summer,

                                           an adventure sure to please everyone !

The diving world has a meeting in the Gaspe Peninsula for the 2010 Jamboree ! Welcome to this large gathering of divers that will take place from August 12th to the 15th in Percé the official site of the event.

Four days of much diversified activities are planned during which the participants will be able to discover exceptional dive sites, initiate themselves to the local underwater flora and fauna, participate in various workshops and above all to meet and exchange with other divers coming from all over Quebec and elsewhere, in short have fun! Jamboree registration

The Jamboree is being held from August 12th to 15th, 2010. Registration can be done on site at the Club nautique de Percé throughout the event. Online registration is available via REGISTRATION.

Registration for specific events Treasure hunt, photography workshop, etc. Registration for specific events can be done on site in accordance with the published schedule of events..

Dives

Dive package coupons, available on site, are required for participation.
Three packages are offered : Gold (8 dives), Silver (6 dives) and Bronze (4 dives).mPackages are offered via dive coupons combined in a passport. Each dive coupon allows for one boat transit to a dive site. Passports also include air fill coupons. Each coupon is valid for a single air fill. Dive coupons and air fill coupons are also available on a unit basis. All divers must register to participate in events as published in the schedule.

Equipment

Divers Rental equipment on the site is limited.
Please bring all your dive gear, including weights and tanks. Need be, it is best to rent gear from your local dive shop. For planning purposes, water temperature at this time of year in Percé is normally in the 12 to 15 °C range.

Air fills

Divers must present their air fill coupons for air services. Portable air fill stations are being provided as well as services from the regular air fill providers in Percé. It is not necessary to stock up on tanks. Note though that Nitrox fills will not be available on site.

Be sure not to forget:

  • Your certification card.

  • Your logbook.

  • Your certificate of qualification (Québec dive permit*).

    * Required for all recreational divers in the province of Québec. Non-residents can obtain a temporary 1-month permit on site.

What to do in Percé… besides scuba diving !

  • Visit the parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé
    (Bonaventure Island, Percé Rock, Charles Robin Complex).

  • Take a whale-watching tour to observe great whales, dolphins and porpoises.

  • Take a lobster fishing interpretation tour.

  • Enjoy kilometers of hiking trails in and around Percé :Mont Ste-Anne – Mont Blanc sector (12 Km), L’Anse-à-Beaufils – Val-d’Espoir sector (15 Km), Rivière aux Émeraudes – Sentiers des Rivières sector (22 Km), Île Bonaventure sector (15 Km).

  • Enjoy a motorized sight seeing tour through the mountains of Percé.

  • Experience Percé from the air on a paraglider or motorized Hang glider with a professional pilot.

  • Sea kayaks and mountain bikes rentals are available.

  • Visit the small typical harbour of L’Anse-à-Beaufils with its cultural centre and its authentic general store.

  • Visit the CIFA in Val-d’Espoir.The centre promotes the basis of durable agriculture with its gardens, its interpretation centre and its market of local products.

  • Birdwatching in and around Percé. Bonaventure Island, Barachois de Malbaie, Pointe St-Pierre and Cap d’Espoir are great spots for birdwatching.

  • Visit our many art galleries, artist’s and crafter’s studios as well as various art exhibits.

  • Gather semi-precious stones such as agates and jaspers on the beaches of Coin-du-Banc, L’Anse-à-Beaufils and Cap d’Espoir.

  • Take a dip in the salt water at the beaches of Coin-du-Banc and Cap d’Espoir.

  • Enjoy salmon and trout fishing in the rivers around Percé, or mackerel fishing on the wharves of the region.

  • Enjoy a deep sea fishing excursion.
